Minnesota should increase taxes and fees to fund transportation improvements, according to a report on Minnesota Public Radio. The recommendation comes from a transportation task force created by Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton.

The repost said the state could raise $15 billion in revenue over the next 20 years by raising the gas tax and add another $1 billion by hiking vehicle registration fees.

The task force also recommended increasing the Twin Cities sales tax that is dedicated to transit investments and expanding the state’s toll-lane system.
