    Built to perform

Ranging from 140 to 205 hp, with standard blade lengths from 12 to 14 ft, New Holland Construction motor graders are engineered to perform in every application, from ripping and rough grading to precise and accurate finishing work. The operator’s cab is mounted behind the articulation point, providing a clear view of both ends of the working blade and enabling the operator to maneuver and respond quickly.
With heavy-duty, box-section construction, the rugged frames of the G140, G170 and G200 motor graders are designed to endure the most rigorous working conditions. Durable front axles stand up to tough grading jobs and oscillate up to 19° to manage rough terrain. An extra-long wheelbase helps deliver an exceptionally smooth ride.

    Comfortable, confident and competent

Komatsu America Corp. introduces the GD655-3 motor grader with super-blade geometry and suspension for uniform grading in all terrain. With an operating weight of 37,801 lb and blade width of 12 or 14 ft, the GD655-3 assures that its operators will be comfortable, confident and productive the moment they climb into the cab.
The GD655-3, with a net hp of 180 to 200, is powered by a Komatsu SAA6D114E-3 engine. The turbocharged and aftercooled high-pressure common-rail fuel-injection engine is EPA Tier III emissions certified and remains fuel efficient without sacrificing power or productivity.

    Decisions, decisions

John Deere has revolutionized motor graders with its new G-Series, offering users a choice of console-mounted, industry-standard controls or armrest-mounted, industry-standard fingertip controls, as well as features like cross-slope control, automatic differential lock and a rearview camera.
Deere is introducing six G-Series models, ranging from 185 to 275 net hp, each engineered for increased productivity, reliability, durability, serviceability and low daily operating costs. With the controls, operators can choose from the console-mounted, low-effort industry-standard control pattern or intuitive and easy-to-use armrest-mounted, industry-standard fingertip controls. If operators specify the fingertip controls, they will still have a choice between using lever steering or the ever-present steering wheel. Either way, G-Series controls provide a smooth, predictable response and plenty of power whether the application calls for heavy blading or fine grading.

    Revolutionary design

Caterpillar announces the new, seven-model lineup of M-Series motor graders. The new machines feature a number of concepts in motor grader design—most notably a pair of joysticks replacing as many as 15 levers and a steering wheel. Because of the many control inputs required and the precision work performed by motor graders, they are widely regarded as the most difficult of all earthmoving machines to operate. Caterpillar designed the M-Series joystick control system to make the motor grader easier to learn and less fatiguing.
The M-Series design didn’t stop at the operator station. New features include dynamic styling that opens up lines of sight, easy adjustment of the drawbar, circle and moldboard, a high-torque all-wheel-drive system, enhanced power management and emissions-compliant Cat C-Series engines with ACERT technology.

    Best Case scenario

The Tier III-certified engines offered in the Case Construction Equipment 800 series motor grader line deliver a stronger throttle response at every rpm, improved cold-start capability and reduced noise. In upgrading motor graders to meet Tier III certification standards, Case took the opportunity to enhance other features on the machines. The engines on the 800 Series motor graders are electronically controlled and fueled through a high-pressure common-rail fuel-injection system. This provides responsive engine control, greater fuel efficiency and a cleaner burn.
The 845 dual-horsepower motor grader maintains the horsepower range required to meet the demands of fine-grading applications, while also providing an increase of 14% for tough conditions. The 865 variable-horsepower motor grader, the most popular machine in the Case motor grader lineup, incorporates all of the most recent enhancements to productivity while delivering an increased 205 net hp.
The largest Case motor grader, the 885, takes advantage of the fully electronically controlled Cummins engine, providing increased power while meeting Tier III certification.
