Husqvarna opens new distribution center in Lenexa, Kan.
March 2019—Husqvarna Construction Products, headquartered in Olathe, Kan., has expanded with a brand new 150,000 sq ft distribution center. The center, located in Lenexa, Kan., is only a mile away from the company's present headquarters and central warehouse. In order to keep its manufacturing and shipping functions performing at their best, Husqvarna opened the new distribution center to provide timely management of order processing and product shipping, The new distribution center now houses all of the company's finished goods, which will allow for an increase in manufacturing capabilities at its current location, while ensuring customer orders get out the door as quickly as possible. The center increases receiving and shipping capabilities three times over Husqvarna's present location. The size and layout of the new facility also enables the ability to process up to five times the amount of inbound inventory every day. The increased capacity has resulted in at least 16 new positions.
Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute elects new chairman and board members
March 12, 2019—The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute has elected Keith Wallis Jr. as its 2019 Chairman. Wallis is general manager of Prestressed Casting Co. in Springfield, Mo. Two other officers were elected for terms in 2019. John Seroky, of High Concrete Group, was elected vice chairman, and Dennis Fink, of Northeast Prestressed Products, was elected secretary-treasurer. PCI members also elected the following as new members of their board of directors: Matt Ballain, Coreslab Structures; Jenny Frost, Wells Concrete; Harry Gleich, Metromont Corp.; Matt Graf, International Concrete Products; Chris Mosley, The Consulting Engineers Group; Bob Pabst, High Concrete Group; Jay Stracener, Precast Erectors; and Randy Wilson, Meridian Brick. All officers and board members started their 2019 terms at the PCI Convention, held in Louisville, Ky., Feb. 26-March 2, 2019.
