Highway 401 and Highway 3 merge together to form one of the most traveled highways in Canada in terms of vehicular and truck volumes. One innovation to meet this challenge was the use of proprietary reinforced soil system retaining walls instead of cast-in-place reinforced concrete. The project site also sits on one of the most unique and diverse habitats in Ontario.
