A dense urban environment calls for proper people migration. During construction there were six mainline traffic switches and significant rerouting of pedestrian pathways. Eastside Corridor Constructors also needed to significantly alter the elevation of the roadway to improve vertical sight distance. Environmental mitigation work included the collection and treatment of 100% of roadway runoff, local stream enhancement, reconstruction of cross drainage to allow fish passage, and extensive on-site water storage and management. Extensive noise monitoring was performed, and complex noise walls were installed.
