No. 7 - I-70 North Junction to Rte. 136

Oct. 4, 2017

As the first contract in PennDOT’s long-term improvement plan for I-70, this project, the state’s first DDI, focused on minimizing traffic congestion with the reconstruction of I-70 between I-79 North Junction and the Rte. 136 Beau Street interchange, as well as reconfiguring the Rte. 19/Murtland Avenue interchange. Widening of I-70 went into the median, while the DDI was contained in the existing interchange footprint. No commercial displacements were made along the rights-of-way. Moreover, the worksite was kept open to traffic the whole way through.
