Federal Highway Administrator Victor Mendez joined Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Secretary Mike Hancock this week to break ground on the federally funded $1.3 billion Downtown Crossing, the second half of the Ohio River Bridges project, a joint effort between Kentucky and Indiana that will help more than 100,000 drivers every day.
“This new bridge, and its East End counterpart, will create jobs and provide more transportation options for one of America’s most important trade corridors,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.
