CONEXPO: Bobcat introduces electric concept compact equipment
March 13, 2020
New electric machines include compact loaders, excavators
Bobcat Co. seeks to revolutionize the compact equipment industry with the introduction of new electric prototype machines and an all-electric concept machine, which were introduced at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2020 in Las Vegas.
With these new solutions, the goal for Bobcat is to prove that battery electric solutions can deliver the expected performance, uptime, and versatility that operators need while also providing the comfort and ease of use that they demand.
The new electric prototype machines from Bobcat—including the S70e electric/hydraulic loader and the E10e and E17e electric/hydraulic excavators—are designed to help equipment owners achieve zero emissions, lower noise levels and, most importantly, comparable and sometimes better performance to the diesel machines virtually anywhere, including indoor demolition or urban construction jobsites. With a ruggedized lithium-ion battery, operators can get a longer runtime between daily charge cycles, supplying steady power before recharge is needed. According to Bobcat, these new machines are designed work just as hard as diesel models with fewer maintenance needs.
Bobcat also introduced the first all-electric compact loader—the T76e. This concept loader is designed to provide a solution for emissions-free, fully electronic operation so customers can be ready for tomorrow’s jobsite demands. A major innovation in the T76e is controllability of horsepower and performance through electronic mechanics instead of the traditional hydraulic and diesel system. According to Bobcat, this loader will be foundational for innovations that will change compact equipment in a number of ways, from improved productivity and enhanced precision to more intelligent machines that bring new capabilities to the jobsite.
