The project has a price tag of $6.19 million

According to the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), Tuscaloosa County will see construction come Monday as the bridge replacement and widening project on U.S. Highway 11 takes place.

The project has a price tag of $6.19 million.

ALDOT says there will be no lane closures until June and July. Motorists will have to take alternative routes during those months due to full road closure. Work-zone speed liomits will be posted for the duration of the road work.

The project is expected to be completed this fall.

The replacement bridge will have one lane in each direction and a dual left-turn lane, along with a sidewalk on the east side of the bridge.
