Sept. 8, 2005

For an excavator that digs deeper and faster, the new 323 compact excavator from Bobcat Co., West Fargo, N.D., will get the job done. The Bobcat 323’s (Circle 907) two-speed travel motors and new hydraulic system provide increased travel speeds and improved control while digging. The 323 has a digging depth of 7 ft 6 in. and a maximum reach of 12 ft 10 in. at ground level. The two-speed travel motors provide a 1.4-mph low travel speed and a 2.4-mph high travel speed, increasing the machine’s mobility around jobsites.

Turf-friendly rubber tracks distribute the operating weight of the 3,655-lb excavator over a larger area to lower ground pressure to 4.1 psi and minimizing damage to landscapes, paving stones and other surfaces. The 323 offers 7.9 gpm of auxiliary hydraulic flow and is powered by a liquid-cooled, 13.3-hp Tier II diesel engine.
