Liebherr Crane Inc., Newport News, Va., has recently expanded their range of three-axle all-terrain cranes with the new LTC 1055-3.1 compact mobile crane (Circle 916). The LTC 1055-3.1 is a hydrostatically driven crane with one cab for road and crane operations. The LTC 1055-3.1 can carry out crane operations without problems in the most confined spaces that could not be performed at all or only with restrictions by conventional all-terrain cranes.
The 118-ft-long telescopic boom consists of seven elements pinned together hydro mechanically. Specific dimensioning of the telescopic ram and optimization of the hydraulics allows significantly heavier loads to be telescoped than previously on comparable mobile cranes. The combined travel and crane engine of the LTC 1055-3.1 is a Liebherr turbo-charged diesel with an output of 460 hp at 1,900 rpm.
The new Liebherr 1055-3.1 compact crane achieves a considerable lifting capacity with 13,200 lb additional ballast.
