The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI), Schaumburg, Ill., recently made available a reprint of the article Resisting Corrosion, written by Seung-Kyoung Lee, Paul D. Krauss and Y. Paul Virmani. The six-page article originally appeared in the May/June issue of Public Roads, a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) publication. The article is an easy-to-understand discussion of the ability of various types of concrete steel reinforcing bar to resist corrosion. The basis of the article is two FHWA corrosion research projects in which all of the authors participated and which tested a variety of reinforcing materials.
