The NU-GUARDT 31 system does not require the use of offset blocks - a simple bolt assembly attaches standard W-beam guardrails to 5 lb per ft RIB-BAKR U-channel posts, making installation quicker and cheaper than wood or I-beam posts. NU-GUARD 31 can be used in either strong or weak post applications, and the system is designed to work with standard W-beam guardrails (AASHTO M-180, Class A or B, Type II).
The NU-GUARD 31 system is crash-test proven to guard against roadside collisions with fixed objects or hazards, meeting the stringent NCHRP 350 TL-3 (MASH) criteria. The system is FHWA-accepted for use along roads or in medians with design speeds up to 65 mph.
The RIB-BAK U-Channel steel posts come either galvanized- or powder-coated to help prohibit rust, enabling the posts to last longer.
