Cranes in action in La.

A total of 47 crawler and rough-terrain cranes from the ALL family of companies are in New Orleans helping to build the Army Corps of Engineers’ 350-mile hurricane and storm damage risk reduction system. The cranes, with capacities from 65–300 tons, are working on two sections of the vast project: the 8-mile Chalmette Loop Levee floodwall and four pump stations.

At the floodwall, 42 of the cranes are driving H-piles and steel sheet pile and pouring concrete into T-wall forms. At the pump stations, five 300-ton cranes, two with ringer attachments and pedestals, are pile driving for the pipe pile and crane platforms, dredging and removing riprap seawalls, and constructing docking areas.
