Lock up enhanced performance

Oct. 4, 2012

Greater control is given to the operator in Komatsu’s newest wheel loaders, the WA380-7 and WA500-7. The large-capacity torque converter kicks the Tier IV engines into high gear. The result is improved acceleration, hill climb, top speed and fuel consumption; engaging the lock-up function in second, third or fourth gear increases the top speed even further. Engine torque can be adjusted to suit the particular job through the Komatsu SmartLoader Logic system. The KOMTRAX fleet-monitoring software is standard on both vehicles.
