ARDOT to Break Ground on Highway Relocation

Aug. 5, 2024
The $9.7 million project is made possible by a unique partnership

The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) will break ground on the relocation of 2.4 miles of Arkansas Highway 113.

The relocation of the highway will have two, 12-foot travel lanes with six-foot paved shoulders. The project will cost $9.7 million.

Arkansas officials will break ground on Monday, Aug. 12.

The project is possible due to an agreement between Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, the Arkansas Highway Commission, Green Bay Packaging, Morrilton, and several counties. ARDOT director Lorie Tudor said this partnership is unique.

“This partnering project emphasizes how much progress can be made when we all work together,” Tudor said. “It is unique in that such a large number of partners [are] participating.”

The project was awarded to McGeorge Contracting Company

Work is scheduled to be completed by late 2025.
