ROAD SAFETY REINVENTED
Designed to reduce accidents and save lives, RoadQuake® 2F Temporary Portable Rumble Strips (TPRS) alert distracted motorists to upcoming work zones, lane closures, checkpoints and traffic incidents. These transverse strips are installed perpendicular to the direction of travel with the purpose of alerting drivers through visual, physical, and auditory cues.
ALERT DRIVERS AND REDUCE WORK ZONE INTRUSIONS
Field evidence and customer testimonials demonstrate that RoadQuake TPRS effectively alerts distracted drivers, reduces the potential of crashes, and saves lives in work zones. Drivers are alerted by seeing an array of strips across the road, feeling vibrations, and hearing familiar rumble sounds caused by tires traveling over the strips. The sounds and vibrations generated by RoadQuake are significant and are similar to milled rumble strips.
TEMPORARY, PORTABLE AND DURABLE
Because RoadQuake installation does not require glue or fasteners, it is ideal for work zones where daily installation and removal is required. The strips can be manually deployed and retrieved by a two-person crew, or with RoadQuake handling equipment like the CRIB® Carrier and Retrieval system or RAPTOR® Rumble Strip Handling Machine. Under normal conditions, RoadQuake TPRS are suitable for use in wet environments with temperatures of 0° to 180°F and speed limits up to 80 MPH.
Since the introduction of this traffic safety countermeasure in 2008, users have deployed RoadQuake arrays in thousands of work zones. Collectively, those strips have experienced well in excess of 5 billion vehicle hits, from motorcycles and sub-compacts to farm equipment and 80,000 lb. semi-trailers.
