The World of Asphalt Show and Conference has been named one of the 50 fastest growing trade shows in the U.S. and Canada by Tradeshow Week, the weekly magazine covering the exposition industry. The publication selected the winners based on significant exhibit space growth from 2001 through 2003.
World of Asphalt has increased steadily in size since it began in 2001, recording a 70% increase in net square footage of exhibit space for its 2003 show, and a 12.5% exhibit space gain for World of Asphalt 2004.
The 2004 show, held in March in Nashville, Tenn., featured record exhibit space totals, growth in global attendance and an expanded education program. More than 170 exhibitors took a record-breaking 54,914 net sq ft of exhibit space to display the latest asphalt-related equipment, products, technology and services.
Attendance totaled more than 3,200 asphalt industry professionals and reflected a growing number of international visitors, with show participants from more than 30 countries worldwide. Attendees from outside the U.S. accounted for about 10% of total attendance, which is an exposition standard signifying an international event.
Education is an important component of World of Asphalt, and more than 50% of?non-exhibitor attendees participated in one or more education sessions. World of Asphalt 2004 also featured a well-received warm mix asphalt paving demonstration and quarry tour.
The next World of Asphalt Show and Conference will be held March 14-16, 2006, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fl. (The event is held annually, except in CONEXPO-CON/AGG show years such as 2005, when World of Asphalt equipment, products and services are showcased in a CONEXPO-CON/AGG asphalt product concentration area.)
