The $3.5 million cost of clearing December’s snowfall might affect other programs of the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), according to the Associated Press.

Just in December, DelDOT spent $200,000 more than its entire snow-removal budget for the year, by the agency’s estimate.

James Westoff, a DelDOT spokesman, said the agency would spend whatever it costs to keep the roads safe.
