The American Road and Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) is currently seeking nominations for its 11th Annual Young Executive Development Program (YEDP), to be held May 17-19 in Washington, D.C.
The YEDP is designed to develop future leaders, offering young executives an intensive three-day introduction to the federal legislative and regulatory processes that affect the transportation construction industry.
Participants will be introduced to the role of trade associations in the policy-making process and how leadership in their trade association can not only benefit their industry but also their own careers. Sessions will cover the annual transportation appropriations process, the federal regulatory rulemaking process, federal environmental, health and roadway safety issues and the 50th anniversary of the Interstate Highway System.
The YEDP will be integrated with the 2006 ARTBA “Federal Issues Program” and Transportation Construction Coalition Fly-In, and YEDP participants will have the opportunity to meet with their congressional delegations to discuss transportation development issues.
More than 225 young executives from 137 companies, public agencies and state contractor organizations in 34 states have completed the program over the past 10 years. Several past participants are now serving on the ARTBA Board of Directors.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Admission to the YEDP is competitive and is limited to 20 participants;
