The CONEXPO-CON/AGG international exposition for the construction industries has been named the largest trade show of any industry in the U.S., for the third consecutive time. The last three editions of the triennial exhibition have earned the top spot for the years in which it was held—1999, 2002 and now 2005.

The rankings are based on net sq ft of exhibit space and are included in the "Tradeshow Week 200" analysis of the largest 200 U.S. industry shows, conducted annually by Tradeshow Week magazine. CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2005 set records for exhibit space and attendance—spanning more than 1.88 million net sq ft of exhibit space and more than 124,300 attendees.

The next CONEXPO-CON/AGG will be held March 11-15, 2008, again at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas. The latest attendee and exhibitor information for CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008 is posted on the show website, www.conexpoconagg.com.

Show management notes that the CONEXPO-CON/AGG philosophy of being an industry-run show has contributed to its continued success despite fluctuations in the construction and general economies over the past several years.

"We are a show run by and for the industry," stated Show Director Megan Tanel. "For example, all of the show-planning committees are made up of exhibitors and attendees. We listen to their input as well as the input from the industry associations that operate the show."

CONEXPO-CON/AGG attracts a global audience and has the support of leading industry organizations from around the world, making it the industry gathering place for the construction industries.

"We wouldn't be as success if we didn't run a quality show, but another major reason for our success is that CONEXPO-CON/AGG revenues are put back into the industry, to support industry projects such as workforce development," said Tanel. "Essentially, an investment in CONEXPO-CON/AGG is an investment in the industries we serve. Our exhibitors and attendees see that and it's another reason to support the show."

The Tradeshow Week analysis also noted that the show producer, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), ranked third among show management organizations by net sq ft of “Tradeshow Week 200” shows and share of market. AEM owns or co-owns and produces several construction-related shows that are the leaders in their market segments.
