Civil engineers around the world will have an oppportunity to gather online for an entire year, starting in July 2002, to participate in CE World, a comprehensive, ongoing and interactive event organized by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The online event is a first for the industry and is the capstone event as ASCE celebrates its 150th anniversary.
Civil engineers, architects, contractors and other critical players in the engineered construction profession can participate in CE World as both consumers and producers of compelling information and presentations. Participants will have access to the latest industry research covering all aspects of civil engineering, as well as current industry news and analysis. Engineering professionals, from the private and public sectors as well as universities, are encouraged to contribute to the industry's body of knowledge by responding to CE World's "call for content."
CE World has issued a request for "content abstracts" from all of the subdisciplines of civil engineering, such as building and materials, disaster reduction, geomatics, environment, structural, sustainable development, water resources and geotechnology. With a goal of 200 presentations, CE World wants to present more than just peer-reviewed papers. Organizers want to offer participants access to a steady stream of multi-media presentations including streaming audio and video presentations that explore, discuss and advance issues critical to the professions development.
For more information on submitting abstracts, visit www.ceworld.org or call ASCE at 703/295-6234.
