Telvent GIT S.A., the Global RealTime IT Company, recently announced that its U.S.-based traffic business, Telvent Farradyne, has signed several contracts totaling nearly $16 million to provide advanced traffic-management operations and maintenance services.
Telvent Farradyne signed a $12 million contract with the Virginia Department of Transportation to provide operations personnel, services and expertise for its Smart Traffic Center in the congested northern Virginia region over a five-year period. Training and performance measurement of the professionals are important aspects of this project.
The company also signed a $4 million contract with the Missouri Department of Transportation to provide operational support for its Gateway Guide traffic-management system in St. Louis. Telvent Farradyne will provide system operators and the operations supervisor for up to four years, as well as on-going training on incident-management techniques, new standard operating procedures and enhanced Traffic Management Center operational techniques.

Telvent Farradyne is now providing operations and maintenance services in Albany, N.Y.; Atlanta; Baton Rouge, La.; Kansas City, Mo. and Kan.; Nashville, Tenn.; New York City; northern Virginia; San Francisco; St. Louis; and West Palm Beach, Fla.
