The Southeast Cement Association and Portland Cement Association (PCA) announced they will be hosting a comprehensive study in roller compacted concrete (RCC), entitled Roller Compacted Concrete Pavement: Design and Construction, on Thursday, May 24, in Nashville, Tenn.

The course is structured for designers, contractors, developers, construction managers, public works officials and other professionals involved with designing, specifying and constructing pavements.

RCC pavements have many applications including industrial sites, streets, roadways, parking lots and ports, and the use of RCC pavements has been rapidly increasing in the Southeast.

The course will allow attendees to experience the innovations that will save construction costs and time while providing long-term pavement. RCC has been associated with many large-scale projects, and in the last 10 years, innovative applications and production methods have grown exponentially.

Currently, RCC is being specified for applications including street construction, industrial and commercial site paving, ports, lumber facilities, military bases, interstate shoulders, highway bases, park-and-ride lots, maintenance facilities and more.

This workshop will include information on design and construction procedures for RCC, to include appropriate applications, mix design, materials engineering, pavement-design guidelines and construction techniques.

The course is intended to provide a thorough technical and practical education on RCC by experienced professionals from the design and construction industry. This education will put attendees on the cutting edge of value-engineered pavements. All attendees will receive a binder of information on RCC and a copy of the RCC-Pave Design Software valued at $165. Attendees also can earn up to six AIA LU and six PDH credits.

The all-day event will be held at Maggiano's Little Italy in Nashville, and costs $150. For additional program information, or to register, visit www.rccpavement.info or www.secement.org.
