July 13, 2018

The $700 million bridge program will include a mix of delivery methods

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KTC) has launched a six-year, $700 million program to replace or rehabilitate 1,000 bridges across the state.

A team led by Stantec is working with KTC on identifying and prioritizing which bridges to address first. The program will include a mix of delivery methods, including both design-bid-build and design-build.

Rehabilitations will aim to add 30 years of design life to the bridges, while the replacement target will be 75 years, according to KTC. Work is expected to begin in the fall.
