One worker is in critical condition and two others have minor injuries

In Camden County, N.J., one construction worker and several others were injured after a woman lost control of her car.

The crash shut down the White Horse Pike on Wednesday.

Multiple workers were stuck in the three-vehicle crash that happened around 9:45 a.m. according to officials. One worker was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, the driver hit a parking curb and a bush before entering the work site and striking the workers. The vehicle then struck two vehicles in the left lane of the White Horse Pike.

The northbound lane of the pike was shut down at the time of the crash as an active work zone.

According to the prosecutor’s office, three workers were transported to the hospital. One was in critical condition with the other two only having minor injuries.

"I feel for the family. The family is absolutely devastated. I can only imagine," said Magnolia Police Chief John Huston.

Last year there were seven fatal crashes on the state highway along its entire stretch within Camden County according to officials.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the workers death. They have six months to release the findings.
