Motorists traveling on Highway 41 in California this week should be prepared for delays as the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) deploys crews to begin repair work.
According to a news release, Caltrans will be repairing potholes as well as repaving stretches of the road north of the Cholame Y where Highway 41 and Highway 46 meet in northern San Luis Obispo County.
The road work began yesterday, and will continue today from 8 A.M until 3 P.M. On Wednesday, Caltrans will close Highway 41 in both directions from 7 A.M. until 6 P.M. The closure will stretch from the Cholame Y to Reef City in Kings County, which is roughly 18 miles north of the border with San Luis Obispo County.
“There will be flaggers on both ends of the lane closure with a pilot car for travelers to follow,” the transportation agency said in the news release.
According to Caltrans, traffic delays could set drivers back 20 minutes.
“Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones,” according to the release.
