Florida Worker Rescued by Crane

The man sustained traumatic injuries from the fall

A construction worker in Jupiter, Fla. fell at the U.S. Route 1 bridge site on Monday. Emergency crews used a crane to rescue him, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR)

The man fell 60 feet from the site of the new bridge. Shortly after 11 p.m., he was taken to Jupiter Lighthouse Park, where he was then airlifted by Trauma Hawk to a Palm Beach County Trauma Center. 

"Our thoughts and well wishes are with the worker who fell last night while working on the US 1 Jupiter Bridge project as they receive care at a local trauma center," the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) wrote in a statement. 

The statement went on to thank those who rescued the worker for their quick responses and assistance. 

The worker sustained traumatic injuries from the fall. 

The bridge that was being worked on is undergoing a $122 million reconstruction and is scheduled to be partially completed in November. It is expected to be completed by the spring of 2026.
