In 2017, Hurricane Irma battered Florida and wrecked a 1.2-mile stretch of shoreline in Key Biscayne, a barrier island near Miami.
During a beach renourishment project in early 2021, crews dumped approximately 31,000 cubic yd of new sand to rebuild the damaged beach and dunes.
Trinity Highway Rentals provided 100 MegaDeck HD access mats to the project. As panels that reduce construction impacts, the MegaDeck HD mats gave truck drivers a safe, stable surface to drive over while pouring new sand on the shoreline.
The MegaDeck HD panels are made of high-density polyethylene with specialized fillers for strength, as well as ultraviolet and anti-static additives to withstand the rigors of construction hauling, adverse weather conditions, and difficult terrain.
The MegaDeck HD panels connect easily and in various configurations using a single T-bar tool, and they are laid seamlessly due to 12-in. flanges that guide the mats into place.
