Boulder City Parkway Complete Streets project finishes up in Nevada

July 14, 2020

Officials with Boulder City and the state of Nevada yesterday celebrated the completion of the Boulder City Parkway Complete Streets project between Veteran’s Memorial Drive and Buchanan Boulevard.

Work on the project began in August 2019. The scope of work, according to the City of Boulder City, involved underground utilities, pavement, striping and signage, traffic signals, streetlights, concrete flatwork, and landscaping. Construction required lane restrictions along Boulder City Parkway in phases.

The city received funding from the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Southern Nevada for the design of roadway improvements. The city used this funding for the Boulder City Parkway Complete Streets project and followed the RTC's complete street policy.

The project covers the entire reach of U.S. 93 through the city limits of Boulder City, from I-11 at Railroad Pass to Pacifica Way. The city said the goal of this project was to transform this "incomplete street" into a functional and accommodating roadway with multiple transportation alternatives.

According to a report from KNTV, the project costs $18.2 million, which included design, construction, and construction administration.
