Summary

Roads, bridges and dams, oh my! So, why is a dam engineer discussing roads and bridges? While the connection might not be obvious initially, this Webinar will reveal the value and overlap that these structures play in enhancing overall dam safety. With aging dam infrastructure across the United States, the focus will be on how bridge and road maintenance is vital for dam safety. Participants will learn about some repair solutions and techniques for supporting road and bridge assets at and near dam facilities.

Learning objectives:

  • Develop a general understanding of the current state of U.S. dam infrastructure and its importance. A brief introduction of the various types of dams, components, locations and aging concerns will be discussed.
  • Explain how bridges and roads support dam operations, including maintenance and emergency response.
  • Formulate strategies for maintaining and repairing bridge and road infrastructure at dam sites, integrating insights from MAPEI’s products and solutions to enhance the safety and functionality of dams.
