Arkansas DOT Nears Completion of I-30 Bridge

Sept. 25, 2024
The structure will open to traffic in three phases

The Interstate 30 Arkansas River Bridge is nearing completion, and the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) will open it up in three phases.

The first phase is scheduled to begin in October on I-30 westbound with traffic being detoured to Cypress Street to allow crews to open and close ramps in preparation for new traffic patterns.

The on-ramp for Broadway Street, the Interstate 630 westbound on-ramp, and the off-ramp for 4th Street will open.

The second phase will begin in mid-October on I-30 westbound. Traffic will be detoured onto the southbound frontage road in Little Rock and all six lanes will open to traffic on the New I-30 westbound bridge.

The final phase will launch in November on I-30 eastbound. All six lanes will open to traffic on the I-30 eastbound bridge.

After the phased openings are completed, traffic will be in its final holding place for eastbound and westbound on I-30. Crews will transition traffic onto the new bridge and have traffic in its permanent alignment.

The bridge has been under construction since 2020 and costs $1.15 billion.
