Senior congressional staff will present their views on SAFETEA-LU reauthorization, the looming FY 2009 Highway Trust Fund solvency crisis and other issues May 20 during the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) Federal Issues Program.
Republican and Democratic staff members from House and Senate committees will participate in a legislative briefing on the 2009 reauthorization of the Safe Accountable Flexible Efficient Transportation Equity Act—A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU), the multi-year bill which sets policy and funding guidelines for federal surface transportation programs.
The panel discussion runs from 10:30 am–11:45 pm May 20 in the “Columbia B” room, ballroom level, at the Hyatt Regency Washington DC—Capitol Hill. The hotel is located at 400 New Jersey Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C.
Panelists will include: Kathy Dedrick, senior policy advisor for transportation, Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works majority staff; James O’Keefe, senior economist, Committee on Environment and Public Works Republican staff; James Kolb, staff director, Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, majority staff; and, Jim Tymon, staff director, Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Republican staff.
