Some of the best new spans in the world will be featured in the August issue of ROADS & BRIDGES magazine.

The International Bridge Conference will name its 2003 medal winners in June. The George S. Richardson and Gustav Lindenthal Medals both honor single recent outstanding achievement in bridge engineering. The Eugene C. Figg Jr Medal for Signature Bridges honors a single recent outstanding achievement that, through vision and innovation, provides an icon to the community for which it was designed, and the John A. Roebling Medal serves as a lifetime achievement award in bridge engineering. ROADS & BRIDGES, sponsor of the Roebling and Richardson Medals, will offer in-depth editorial on all four.

The August issue also will contain ROADS & BRIDGES' 2003 software buyer's guide, which will provide readers with an A-Z contact listing of important companies in the highway/bridge construction software industry.

Other editorial highlights are compaction and stormwater runoff.
