Jack Swan, vice president of operations for All Erection, explains why the GMK5100 fits exactly with his company’s needs:

“The GMK5100 has one of the best lifting charts in its class. It is a reliable, hard-working machine used for a variety of jobs. We’ve got a number of these machines at depots across the country and they’re consistently popular with our customers. We are proud to take delivery of the 500th GMK5100, and I’m sure we’ll add even more of these cranes to our fleet in the future.”

Philippe Cohet, executive vice-president for Manitowoc Crane Group in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, explains why the GMK5100 enjoys continued success:

“The GMK5100 is an extremely popular model, in both the new and used markets. It is the cornerstone of many rental fleets around the world. Production continues at our manufacturing facility in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, in order to supply demand worldwide,” Cohet said. “The GMK5100 is the most popular five-axle all-terrain of modern times and a testament to the engineering excellence at Grove.”

The 120t GMK5100 first appeared in 2000. It is a versatile all-terrain crane, thanks to features such as a 167.3-ft main boom, maximum jib of 111.5 ft, taxi configuration and an 12t counterweight. The GMK5100 has proved so successful that many of its features are incorporated into Grove’s latest five-axle unit, the GMK5165-1.
