Professionals looking for cost-effective ways to gain knowledge and earn the credits needed for certification programs now have a new option. The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) is offering a complete line-up of webinars to meet a wide range of training needs.
"People are busy. We've found more and more, people don't have the time or the budget to travel for training," said Kim Kline, technical resource director for IECA. "But with today's regulatory climate, professionals need to stay informed of the issues and new techniques. We think webinars are the solution."
The hour-long sessions address topics ranging from water harvesting to low-impact development and illicit discharge detection programs. Some topics such as storm water BMP maintenance and storm water pollution prevention plan assessment, inspection and maintenance are conducted as a multipart series to allow participants a more in-depth look at the subject.
Later this fall, IECA will partner with CPESC Inc. to provide review courses and training for individuals looking to become certified professionals in erosion and sediment control or certified professionals in storm water quality.
One-hour sessions are $65, with discounts given to IECA members. Each session will earn a participant one professional development hour or .1 continuing education credit. All webinar material is peer reviewed to assure quality and accuracy.
"IECA prides itself on the quality of education we provide, these webinars are no exception," said Kline.
