Yesterday, president-elect Donald Trump announced that he has selected former congressman and Fox Business co-host Sean Duffy to serve as the next secretary of the Department of Transportation.
Duffy served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2019, representing Wisconsin’s Seventh Congressional District. More recently, he was the co-host of “The Bottom Line,” after joining Fox News in 2020.
While in Congress, Duffy served as chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations and on the House Committee on Financial Services.
Duffy resigned his congressional seat in 2019, saying in a statement that he wanted to spend more time with his family.
Before running for Congress, Duffy served as district attorney of Ashland County, Wisc., from 2002 to 2008.
"Sean has been a tremendous and well-liked public servant," Trump said in his announcement. "Sean will use his experience and the relationships he has built over many years in Congress to maintain and rebuild our Nation’s Infrastructure and fulfill our Mission of ushering in The Golden Age of Travel, focusing on Safety, Efficiency, and Innovation. Importantly, he will greatly elevate the Travel Experience for all Americans."
Duffy became famous as a cast member on MTV's The Real World: Boston. He also starred in other MTV reality shows, like Road Rules: All Stars and Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Battle of the Seasons.
